mom

mom,

mom,
do u remember the
time when we used to lived
in New York
& i was a little girl
     who couldn't sleep
          that night
but i was
lying down beside
u & u were telling me
goofy  fairy tales
     & silly stories
about our family
yes i remember that----
nom,
i have remember
the days when
u baked a delicious
     chocolate cake
& u gave me the empty bowl of creamy
     cake mix
we were in the kitchen
     cooking dinner
while i'm playing
     with my baby doll

indeed i remember---

oh mom,
i remember
those times
when u used to
     sew  my clothes
     my bandanas
even my dresses for prom,
homecoming dance
and yet i still have
     some of them

i remember those moments
when we first travel down
south in virginia
renting a hotel
     for a night
so we began our own
     little journey

always there
when i'm in pain
always there
when i did something right

our memories sweeps
off  like egyptian sand

     and i look back
on those days,
     i laugh
     i cry
     i smile
when the memories
     follow me like
          shadows

and still
     we live
and grow
stronger as our woman hood

mom, i love u
so much
that it makes
the world even brighter
     beautiful..........
