fuchsia

fuchsia

with her hanging down petals

as her blossom face bends toward the ground

looking at grasshoppers

and golden weeds

oh precious young fuchsia

she doesn't look at the sun

she only sees her shadow dancing in the wind

while her skinny stem breaks off

falling down on streams

she floats overseas near the rainbow

indeed, she came to her death

her beautiful young death

and she still is hanging down

upside down towards her solid grounds

where she's hidden

in her own shadows

and oh, no more fucshia

no more flowering fuchsia

but the presence of her spirit still lives on

hung upside down

facing God's pale sky complexion....

Awww. I know this has more than one meaning, but it kind of reminds me of when my amaryllis fell down. (But I rescued it and it's sprouting again! :) )
