Please teach your children 

About  how the world is not your friend….

About how everyone is not your friend…

Especially when you’re around certain white people

And you’re the only black kid….

You can’t say race doesn’t matter 

We all bleed red 

Cos it’s a lie, and I’m sorry to say that 

In advance but 

We both know 

We got targets on our backs…..

Do you know your history?

Do you really know?

I’m not a mother, 

I don’t have any kids 

I just know our 

Babies need to be safe..

I can guess what you’re 

Thinkin 

Why is she tellin us 

How to care for our kids 

If she don’t have none?

Y’all could say mind your business 

Some of y’all might say 

Thank you for lookin out 

For our people and our babies…

Cos racism is absolutely dangerous…

We have to warn our youth 

Yes they can be friends with 

White kids however 

Sometimes friendships can be fake….

We also see Nolan Wells

We watch what happened on the news 

We also acknowledge police brutality 

And the Karens of the world…

Even school pipelines….

Y’all need to have a talk with your 

Children, it’s all I’m sayin…

I don’t wanna see 

I don’t wanna see 

A black father sat in silence 

With an edge of a frown in grief 

I don’t wanna see a 

Black mother wailin louder 

On the floor with her heartbreak in her hands….

Y’all know what they say 

Parents shouldn’t have to bury their babies….

I don’t want that for y’all…

I want y’all to have the best family in the world 

I want y’all to have a healthy lovin one…

In order to protect this black joy 

Y’all should not let anybody harm it…

If somebody killed your baby, 

I want y’all to beat the shit out of that person 

Especially a racist person…

Especially a racist white person…

I know it won’t bring your baby back…

You must give that enemy a black eye 

Instead of forgiveness…

You don’t forgive a murder who killed 

Your loved one…..

I’m writin this letter to y’all  

Cos y’all really need to hear 

You really need a reminder….

You don’t wanna lose your child 

In a hidden racial motivation 

In other catastrophes….

 Again, y’all may say 

Mind your business….

And I completely understand…

I don’t want y’all 

To have such grief of 

Losin your great loves..

Cos of racism 

Cos of fake ass friends 

Y’all are 

A wonderful parents 

And your kids love y’all 

Y’all are doin a great job….

Y’all do matter
