I don't wanna hear it…

It's not February..  

Keep it to yourself…

Nobody wants to listen….

Don't give a book, 

A fact,

A Research essay, 

None of that…

It's ok 

I get it 

You don't wanna hear 

About black history….

It makes you angry…

It does to me….

However 

Sometimes 

There could be a lesson 

That warns you in the future.. 

Cos our pasts and trauma 

Is a repeated pattern….

You never know 

What kind of event would it be?

I'm not sayin to wait for it.. 

You can still stay busy 

In your bubble…

However if you don't know 

About black history, 

How would you know 

Your own ancestors?

How can you walk into 

The future? 

How can you know yourself?

Your blackness?

It's important..  

It's why the research and readin 

Is too important…

Don't read the whitewash, 

Read the truth 

Cos it will liberate you 

From your chains….
