Another Voodoo Poem

Voodoo is not the devil….

Someone told you that a long time ago….

It’s an African tradition, still practice in Haiti….

It’s not demonic…

It’s a religion….

People do voodoo for good and evil…

But it’s not the devil….

The white man told you 

It’s the devil worship 

You must pray to Jesus instead…

Cos he wants to do the spell work….

For himself, for his race….

He made a law not to use your heritage magic 

That’s cos he doesn’t understand….

Now for generations and generations 

Black people are sayin 

Voodoo is the devil….

They got it from the colonizers

Who destroy their things

Who stole their magic…

Do you know what’s sad

Is that some black people doesn’t 

Realized they have ancestors who practice 

Magic way before Christianity?

They don’t know they have it in their genes….

They are unaware of they’re under a spell…

If they have a family member who have voodoo 

Dolls and candies, 

They would stay far away….

Sometimes they would make them throw 

Their shit away….

It’s all the colonizers’ fault…

It’s all the white man’s fault….

You know what 

Haitian used it to create their revolution to 

Whoop the slaveowners’ ass….

You see i rather use voodoo to stir up trouble 

When it comes to racism….

Not Jesus to pray and forgive type shit….

I rather defend myself….

Cos that’s what the Haitians did 

They used voodoo and other spiritual systems 

To get their own freedom….

Not a lot of people know this,

But they have to slam dunk on those masters

Who treated them like animals…

I don’t blame them….

Is voodoo the devil? 

Are we the devil? 

I don’t think so….

It’s a black culture, African culture….

White man’s religion is the devil…..

But many still see it’s not….

Too much cult followin
