 Righteous anger 

Black people are 

Not that anger 

Maybe we are

It’s just that we 

Don’t show it 

We know we should be 

Angry for the right reason….

Sometimes being mad is 

A good thing 

Cos of what’s happenin to 

Us racial behaviors give us 

Victimhood….racial violence 

Keep remindin us 

We ain’t human to the world 

And this is why we should be 

Angry….not upset with stupid shit 

That distracts us….

People asked 

Why are you so angry?

Or why aren’t you angry?

I’m not talkin about 

Negativity 

I’m talkin about anger 

Gets shit right 

Like being towards white folks and other races 

Who disrespected you 

Like learnin how to move on chess

Be a certain leader who can unite 

Black communities without bullets…

That’s what the righteous anger 

Looks like….

It’s a good thing…..

I’m aware 

That righteous anger 

Can be a downfall 

Meanin you can fake madness 

And still asks for profits

Honestly 

We’re not angry 

We’re not that angry at all….

Part of it is 

White supremacy controls our emotions 

and the fact that the majority of us don’t care….

It also leads us to fear of death 

For doin the right thing for our own people…..

That’s why 

Black people need to learn 

To have a straight spine….

However 

Many don't want to do the work….

We’re not pissed off…

Black leaders 

Were pissed off 

For their people 

Righteous anger 

Is passionate 

Is compassionate 

Is advocate 

Is activism

Is whoopin somebody’s ass….

White folks and other races get scared 

Like backin away 

When black unity shows them we don’t tolerate 

The disrespect and they know that….

It’s why as a black race 

We need to remind ourselves 

Or learn about self respect and dignity….

That’s what it is, 

Righteous anger is not kindness 

It’s firm

It can be stern….

Righteous anger is 

When you fight back 

When you stand on business 

Black people 

Shouldn’t be afraid of their enemies…

I hate to admit 

We’re trained to be more softer 

To be more like a “bigger person.”

And I don’t like that….

Dancin doesn’t work either….

Marchin is not workin either 

Sometimes violence is the best answer 

That you mean you gotta go bolder 

If jail time 

You gotta die for your people 

Make big sacrifices

and 

This is what anger 

I’m talkin about….

Dehumanizin 

Takin human rights

Is anger…. I know maybe you 

Don’t wanna be angry

It might sound negative to your ears 

Yet this hardened feelin makes 

You think 

Makes you aware 

And learn 

It does get a lot of shit done…

Though 

Don’t let it hard your soul 

Don’t Let this bitterness become your lifetime 

Righteous anger 

Shouldn’t be an obsession 

You got other feelings, too

All I’m sayin 

Black people 

Should be angry at 

White supremacy a lot 

Cos all our pain should be 

Crackin down over night 

Or all week 

Or all year….
