“Condition” of fear
As black people
We do have fear
Deep rooted in our dna
That’s been passed down
To our babies to our grand babies
To our great babies….
It goes on and on and on….
Fear birthed from slavery
To Jim Crow
Actually where colonizers came
As kind missionaries and
Then became the cruelest villains
On earth….
I’m doin my best
To explain in simple terms
As possible….
We’re scared to remove
The white man from his throne
He already poop upon
A highest seat…
And we’re afraid to take him
Out cos we’re trained to be
Frightened of him…..
You have seen movies
And books about mistreatment
Of our people….if we were to get
Bold enough to challenge and
The good ol boys we get whooped
And killed…..it’s started off where
Europeans captured and divided
Black families and how it grows
On plantations….so much abuse
So much violence on melaninated brains
It becomes trauma….
Fear is a trauma response….
I hope you know that…
It’s a syndrome
A mental disability….
A disorder
An illness
And we have carried
It through generations
For decades….
Black people murmur other
Black people to be quiet about
Racism, about being too black
In front of white folks….
As protection….
I heard white folks
Are too comfortable
With us not speakin
About this topic….
But if we talk about black history
On February
We either talk little or not at all
Some of us hesitant when we
Want their validation…
That’s part of our lifetime brokenness…
It sustains in the role of fear….
“Condition” of fear
That’s what we have
Yet some of us have
Learn to stand on business
For what’s right….
We learn to fight back if necessary….
Still
The “Condition” of fear
Still lingers our bones
There are black people
Who will back away from a white man
And do what he says….
Others are like givin him knuckle sandwiches
To his face
Sayin who the fuck are you talkin to….
When I watch black people
Have self respect and dignity
Have to defend themselves
It feels like our “Condition” of fear
Is all gone…like it’s healin….
Like ancestors came through
Our smacks and punches…
Honestly,
We do wanna whoop
White man’s ass and his woman
Even a white child…..
Cos who the fuck They think they are….
Am I lyin?
We’re trained to be
Scared of the white man
We’re trained to think
He’s a god….
Do you remember
Fairly odd parents?
There was a tv movie on
Nickelodeon
There was a teacher
Who stole fairy powers
And he ruled the world
And everyone was bow down to him
I think they were afraid of him
I think his name was Crocker, right?
It’s givin me that…
White supremacy gave me that vibe
And the system has taught us
To be scared, to tiptoe around him
Crocker is a skinny white dude….
With glasses….
Did he have a weapon?
I don’t know….
But in the real world
White men have weaponization
It made them feel strong like men
When really without guns
They couldn’t hide their insecurities….
Black people
Are beginnin to see this…
White men are cowards
They’re more afraid of us….
“Condition” of fear
That we have as a
Collective…cowardice is
In our genes unfortunately
Cos we still feel like
We’re on plantations
And we’re not, it depends
On any situation we’re in….
For more than 400 years
Of slavery we still haul that
Mental illness, the damage of
Foldin, kneelin, bendin to the
White man…
You see in
Coons being all shook
To the point they apologize
For being a warrior…
For speakin up for black people…
To me
That’s insane
That’s insane that black people
Has to live like that especially when
They’re workin with big industries….
Ha, that white man
It’s givin Crocker
That cartoon
With the glasses
He took over the world
Make everybody afraid
Cos he thinks he’s superior….
It did happened in real life
Except he didn’t have fairy dust
He got equalizers
And fork tongues
To colonize the whole damn planet….
Art imitates life
Life imitates life
And that fairly oddparens
Gave you a real history….
It went over a lot of heads….
What do you think?
We say we’re goin to stand up
To the white man…
But many of us have the heart
Of bravery
No spine…
“Condition” of fear
Is still rooted
Deep in us….
I think we should get rid
Of it
If we wanted to
Stand up for ourselves….
If we truly want to
Get rid of racism
That lives in our breaths
We should train ourselves
Not to hesitate
Not to be afraid
Not to be a punk…
It should be a reminder
That white supremacy is full of cowardice
And insecurities….
we shouldn’t be afraid of our enemies
They’re actually afraid of us….
