For a while….

Cos if they did, I would like to say thank you 

For makin them…for everybody to be mobile…

To be independent as much as possible…

Here’s a thing 

White supremacy loves to take our brilliance 

Our black excellence and place it in hidden rooms…

They love to snatch and plagiarize 

Sayin they have built it on their own with blood and sweat…

When really, it’s us behind that magic….

It’s why wheelchairs sat on my brain 

For a bit…. White people love to hide 

Our creations cos of their jealousy, of 

Their insecurities….the fact they were taught 

That black people are supposed to be dumb….

We ain’t stupid, we’re intelligent 

We have made the world spin 

For decades….especially before 

All  the other races came around…,

Look at the history 

Who created whiskey?

A black man…

And they have kept it 

Til years later….

People believe 

It was some white man who created 

Some type of alcohol…

Nope…

It was a black man, Nathan "Nearest" Green..

I was so curious 

About the wheelchairs….

I know how they are 

I know how they do…

I wouldn’t be surprised if black people 

Did invent wheelchairs 

We just never know…..

Google says black people did not invent wheelchairs 

But they made contributions 

Like Rufus Jack Weaver….

Honestly 

We just never know when to find out 

From years to now 

Just like we learned about a Nathan "Nearest" Green invented 

Whiskey..

As I recall 

I heard that on the radio 

On the way to the day program 

In the 2010s…

A thought of black people 

Invented wheelchairs 

Will stay with me for a long time….

Cos I have a feelin they did….

Nobody will give us credit for our genius makings….

Nobody will accept our intelligence 

Cos to the eyes of white supremacy 

We’re not supposed to be usin our brains….

We’re not supposed to be smart….

We’re not supposed to challenge others who think they’re superior….

Have you heard of this sayin 

You gotta be good as twice as them

Somethin along the lines?

Well let me put on a perspective 

It’s not ego or anythin like that 

But black people are way more smarter than them

They’re way more educated and better than them…

Cos without us around 

What would other races do?

What would America do without us?

We built from the ground up…

They can never live without us..

Yet have the nerve to disrespect us….

So I hope you think about wheelchairs 

And black people 

Cos it’s possible they invented them 

Never know..
