A dog whistle
A dog whistle
In silence
In our critical thinkin
I saw a converse ad
That looks like the kkk
And strange fruit….
We ain’t stupid…
At first
I thought that was a
Black boy in a dress
Automatically seein
Psychologically
Buckbreakin
Then I saw lynchin
Melaninated legs with shoes of
Brand danglin in the air….
Still
Black people will continue to
Shop there even workin there
When corporations still disrespect them….
No integrity
No self respect and dignity….
This is not me
Gettin too logical and deep
We know what we see
However we chose to be ignorant
And that’s the problem…..
Converse knew what they’re doin…
And they’re downplayin their sorries
They justify….
Yet we keep askin
The same ol question over and over
When will we learn that major companies
Doesn’t like our black asses?
That could be our dog whistle in our minds
When another pattern of racism comes….
Black people keep goin back to where
They’re hated….go to black businesses
Where we feel like a human and black….
Where we feel like healin and love is a home…
You see black people don’t ads like that….
We don’t create strange fruit on each other
To buy cool products….
Do you understand?
Do we understand?
Again this is a pattern….
That phase of history repeats itself….
Don’t forget Nike
A black boy wore a black skirt….
They keep playin in our faces
We get mad still we keep givin them
Our money….
We don’t learn a damn thing….
It’s the truth…✊🏿💯©️Kai C. 9-19-26
