Why?

Do you want me to sugarcoat?

Do you want me to lie?

Just to make all the Europeans feel comfortable 

As much as possible?

I don’t wanna do that….

Let’s start a controversy 

Have a heavy discussion 

After all, racism is in our face…

So no 

I will write the word white 

Cos that’s what Europeans classify as….

I mean, did they create whiteness?

I will take the word white in, 

I don’t care how mad the readers get…

The real issue is, 

Nobody likes the truth….

Nobody likes the facts…

It’s why people said take that word white out…

Especially when you’re writin somethin 

Professional…

Or a book report 

Or a poem at a school performance…

Yet what if white becomes a slur?

Yet Caucasians called themselves white…

Durin Jim Crow, they got signs 

White only….

White turned into favoritism…

Everybody wants white..

Promixity to whiteness

And somehow you learned that 

Whiteness is all fifth….

Whiteness is colonization….

Whiteness is an abuse 

Whiteness is a dreamscape of superiority…

Whiteness is all bull shit….

Whiteness got black people hate themselves…

You can’t tell me take the word white out of

The system that envies our melanin…

I will not sugarcoat…

I will not make my white friends feel comfortable 

They better learn today 

Or leave….

I will not apologize…

It’s racist when you tell a black poet 

Not to write black issues…

Cos it’s too black 

It’s too angry….

It’s beyond racist when you tell a black poet

That he or she should love everybody else, too…

Like why can’t we be selfish?

Why can’t we only love our people?

That’s the thing I noticed,

What about the Asians, Latinos, native Americans?

Most of us said we do…

However 

Can we just say we love black people 

Without the “but”?

And leave the word white in cos 

We will always talk about racism….

That’s why Europeans called themselves 

White 

So called “white supreme”

Ha

What’s so supreme about them?
