out in the rain

out in the rain          4/22/06

out in the rain
out breaking the storm
out upon the white lightening

and i nap and i nap
til the sun's beaming through the thunder sky
but it never comes

so i keep on napping

those drops
those heavy drops
splashing over the car windows

yet i still dream i can smell the early summer water

oh out in the rain
out in the dark greenish tree
where they were talking to one another

don't see the flowers
just cars riding on highways
and i'm only missing my special friend------
